For Men Who Don’t Feel Like Themselves Anymore

If you’re reading this, there’s a good chance you don’t quite recognise the man in the mirror anymore.

  • The belly is more noticeable than it used to be.
  • Clothes feel tighter.
  • Energy isn’t what it was.
  • You’re starting to think about blood pressure, cholesterol or “what if something serious happens?”.

You’re not doing this on purpose.
Life just… happened.

Career, family, stress, responsibility – somewhere along the way, your own health slid down the list. And now you’re wondering how to get it back without becoming a gym bro or going on another miserable diet.

That’s where this whole thing comes in.

What you want (even if you don’t say it out loud)

Most of the men who find their way here quietly want the same things:

  • To feel lighter and more capable in their body.
  • To trust their health instead of worrying about the next check‑up.
  • To have the energy to actually enjoy evenings, weekends, holidays.
  • To feel like themselves again – not “the slow, tired version”.

You want to be around long enough – and in good enough shape – to see the people you care about grow up, grow older, and to actually enjoy the life you’ve worked so hard to build.

You don’t want perfection.
You want a lifestyle that works.

Why I care so much about this

My goal is simple: help as many men as possible get in shape and live long, healthy lives.

That’s not just a nice line for a website.

  • My dad died at 60 from a heart attack while in hospital with terminal cancer.
  • My grandad died at 70 from heart disease.

Those were lifestyle‑related illnesses. They didn’t “just happen”.

When I was 14, my mum decided she wanted to get healthy. I started taking her jogging a few times a week, encouraged her to stop smoking, and helped her clean up her diet.

Fast‑forward to today: I went to visit her in the retirement community where she lives. She was complaining that everyone else shuffles slowly down the corridor with Zimmer frames and sticks.

At 93 she’s about the oldest person there. She’s not overweight, she stands tall, and she walks with real vigour.
I told her she’s a freak (with love).

That’s what long‑term lifestyle choices can do.

Life has punched me in the gut too.
My son Joel died in an accident when he was 19. Since then, I’ve been determined to live every single day as fully as I can.

This life is fragile.
Not taking care of the body we’ve been given – when we can – feels disrespectful to the people who never got that chance.

What I see in men every day

Everywhere I go, I see good men:

  • Clearly not looking after their health.
  • Carrying more weight than their joints and heart would like.
  • Looking older and more tired than they need to.

Not because they don’t care.
Because:

  • Life got in the way.
  • The advice out there is confusing and often extreme.
  • They’ve tried before, it didn’t stick, and they quietly lost confidence.

Deep down, almost every man wants to feel fit, capable and in control of his health.
Most just don’t have a simple, realistic way to get there.

That’s where I come in.

Who I am (and why you can trust me with your health)

I’ve been helping people move, eat and live better for a long time.

  • First qualified to teach fitness in 1988 at Trinity and All Saints College (now part of Leeds University).
  • Added more advanced nutrition and weight‑management qualifications in the 2010s.
  • I’ve been teaching fitness, nutrition or weight loss in some capacity ever since – in gyms, health clubs, group programs and now 1:1 coaching.

I’m also a long‑time endurance athlete. I’ve seen, in my own training and my clients’, how daily, moderate aerobic exercise – walking, easy running, cycling, swimming – is the bottom layer of the health pyramid.

Get that layer in place and:

  • Fat loss becomes easier.
  • Sleep and stress improve.
  • Blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar respond.
  • You actually feel like a fit, capable man again.

Ignore that layer and everything feels like pushing a boulder uphill.

What my coaching is (and isn’t)

This isn’t:

  • A six‑week shred.
  • A “no pain, no gain” bootcamp.
  • A complicated meal plan you can’t live with.

This is:

  • Daily, doable aerobic movement you can actually fit into your life.
  • Simple, real‑food guidelines that work whether you’re at home, at work or eating out.
  • Straight‑talk coaching – no shaming, no fluff, just realistic next steps.
  • A focus on health, confidence and identity, not just the number on the scale.

You keep your job, your family and your life.
Together we redesign how you live in your body.

If this sounds like you…

If any of this feels uncomfortably familiar:

  • You don’t feel like yourself in your body anymore.
  • You’re worried about where your health is heading.
  • You’re ready to do something about it – but it needs to be realistic.

Start with the Lifestyle Health Check for Men on the homepage.
In a few minutes you’ll see where you stand and what to fix first.

From there, if you want help turning your results into a simple, sustainable plan, you can always reply to one of my emails and we’ll talk.

You don’t have to be perfect.
You just have to start living like the man you want to be again.
